The Museum of Cardiff turned to us to produce concepts for improving interactivity and engagement. I found that their digital archives were lacking, being dull and tedious to sift through, so I conceptualised expanding it to make discovery more fun.
The site was designed with a horizontal user flow where you pushed through layers to reach the intended article, with the idea that it would feel like peeling back layers or digging deeper into a rabbit hole.
To foster interaction with the local community, there would also be geotags assigned to each article, so Cardiffians would be able to look at the items that were donated from their area. Empty regions might inspire residents to donate to fill it up, creating a sense of competition that would drive engagement.
